App

Our association is overseeing the development of an app for labour-time calculation by a programming collective. The app facilitates collaboration among collective enterprises based on working hours. The goal is to achieve the most faithful implementation possible of the principles outlined in the text “Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution.”

Functions:

  • Enterprises use the app to submit production plans, specifying the labor time costs of their products. These products and their costs are then published.

  • Enterprises record from which enterprises they have purchased goods (e.g., machines or raw materials) and the quantities involved.

  • They track the number of hours worked by their workers. These hours correspond to the newly added labor.

  • Workers receive certificates for registered work, which can be used to purchase products from other enterprises.

  • Enterprises can establish collaborations, allowing them to prevent competition by calculating average production times.

  • There is public access to plans and accounts for democratic oversight.

  • A democratically authorized body (accounting) can approve or reject plans.

  • Public plans whose costs are collectively borne can be approved.

  • The programming collective is already using the app. It is intended to soon serve the economic networking of additional enterprises.

  • The app is currently available in German, English, and Spanish. More languages and an accessible interface will be implemented soon. It is open-source.

How does the app work?

How collective enterprises, cooperatives, and neighborhood communities can use our app is explained in this video with English subtitles:
